DIRECTION TO

The exhibition by Emilio Ferro redefines the spaces of the Wunderkammer, transforming them into a crossroads between physical locations and inner landscapes.

01

At its core, Ferro’s luminous sculptures serve as silent guides—arrows pointing toward distant cities while simultaneously evoking deeply personal, introspective journeys. Direction To goes beyond mere geographical reference. Each artwork becomes a symbolic bridge between physical direction and the observer’s emotional and spiritual world.

The essential nature of the sculptures invites a deep connection with the suggested route, which may represent a future destination, a place from the past, or an unknown horizon. The artist has recorded the magnetic field of the exhibited works, sampling its sound and creating a soundtrack that makes the inaudible perceptible. The magnetic field—invisible yet present in all matter—becomes a symbol of the subtle connection between art, the environment and the human being.

EMILIO FERRO

Emilio Ferro, born in 1988, is an Italian artist renowned for integrating light, sound, and visual arts into his installations for public spaces, foundations, and museums. His poetic vision, inspired by the contemplation of the natural world, distorts viewers’ perceptions through innovative technology, crafting harmonious and immersive experiences. His monumental yet delicate works interact with spaces on a vast scale without permanently altering their essence, enhancing their mysticism. Ferro’s installations gracefully hover over forests, vineyards and open environments, narrating the timeless relationship between humans and their surroundings. His interdisciplinary approach bridges art and science, fostering creative experimentation and new perspectives.
