Aurel K. Basedow is a German artist and designer, born in Munich in 1963, whose practice is rooted in craftsmanship, material exploration and visual research. After training in woodworking, he studied painting at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan, developing a language where artistic gesture and artisanal knowledge naturally converge. Based in Como, he has pursued a personal research across painting, sculpture and collectible design, with a constant focus on the transformation of matter. His works emerge through layered processes, deep textures and intense chromatic fields, where light, surface and memory become essential elements of the composition.
