KENTIA PALM

With this series the artist looked at when things get mixed a certain vagueness appears. By copying the palms into a material foreign to them, they enter ambiguous territory. It makes it hard to pinpoint where they exactly belong. Every object is handcrafted by using classic metalworking techniques. Soldering, piercing and forming by hand. Every object has its own individual look as they do in nature. As time goes by the brass will start to oxidise slightly and develop a intenser and more natural look. The marble cylinders are created by a combination of heavy duty industrial processes and hand finishing through polishing.
