Esedre

Esedre

结合历史和当代的参考,反映着艺术家对身份的不断探索,尤其是根据古典神话对复杂的女性宇宙的探索,此领域与她的家乡 Calabria 密切相连。

Luxury interiors brand Visionnaire proudly presents Esedre, the lates collection of work by noted Italian sculptor Stefania Pennacchio. The Italian based brand has planned this exhibition - featuring a series of experimental, highly evocative Raku ceramics - in coordination with both the 2015 Cersaie fair and Expo Milan 2015, where Pennacchio is presently honored as an Art World Ambassador. The exhibition also complements Visionnaire’s most recent furniture collections, Nature’s Jewel Box and Déco, presented at the latest Salone del Mobile.

Combining both historical and contemporary references, Esedre reflects the artist’s ongoing exploration of identity and, specifically, the complex female universe in light of classical mythology, an area intimately linked to her homeland of Calabria. Pennacchio embraces the traditional Japanese technique of Raku to do so, and the results are breathtaking. As critic and journalist Philippe Daverio notes, “At this point I think we can return the Riace Warriors to the Greeks and put in their place Pennacchio’s sculptures.”

Combining both historical and contemporary references, Esedre reflects the artist’s ongoing exploration of identity and, specifically, the complex female universe in light of classical mythology, an area intimately linked to her homeland of Calabria.
